The Eolian Islands
Visiting the Eolian Islands is a magic adventure: it unfolds while furrowing the sea of Ulysses, known for the call of the Sirens and the forge of Hephaestus. This tour is designed to visit and discover the seven islands, so close and yet so different from each other. On board a fantastic wooden boat, or overlooking from a typical Aeolian terrace, we will admire magical places where at sunset the sun sets between Alicudi and Filicudi Islands, and the western sky lights up with fire. This is how The Poet describes the islands: “Neptune, Aeolus, Venus and Vulcano are the gods who have chosen to live this sea and these enchanted places. Every now and then they quarrel with each other and suddenly all becomes restless. If Aeolus snorts, Neptune loses his temper. If Venus does not indulge herself to Vulcan, his head starts to pout smoke. They are divine and capricious. We Islanders have always known them, and we well and patiently endure them.”
